Single View of Customer - The Holy Grail

The Presenters:

Sid Suri manages marketing for TIBCO’s Master Data Management (MDM) group. TIBCO Software Inc. delivers real-time business solutions to over 3,000 customers. TIBCO’s Master Data Management solutions are enabling industry leaders align master data both internally and across the value chain, and enforce data governance. Before TIBCO, Mr. Suri worked at SAP in the xApps/Netwaver product marketing group. Before that Mr. Suri worked as a managing principal with C-bridge, a strategy and technology consulting firm that helped organizations transform their business and gain competitive advantage through IT solutions. Mr. Suri has a B.A. in Economics and Italian from Middlebury College and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley

Master data management (MDM) is becoming a priority for large organizations that need real-time access to accurate information about customers, products, vendors and more.  Yet many businesses still struggle to gain a complete view of information assets, as data and processes are often encoded and identified in different ways across different systems, applications and departments.  This presentation will explore:

The pros and cons of common approaches to MDM

Technical considerations involved in taking on an MDM initiative

Why including business stakeholders in the process is critical

Best practices for ensuring a flexible, long-term solution, and for getting the greatest value out of MDM

David Gleason

Single View of Customer. In recent years, companies around the world have devoted enormous energy and resources to better managing their customer information. They have a variety of motivations for doing this, ranging from seeking increased operational efficiencies through supporting strategic planning and customer cross-selling. Regardless of the motivation, the "holy grail" for these companies is the "Single View of Customer."

Alliance will discuss the details of a global single view of customer project at a major F500 account. In this project Alliance produced more than a 50% uplift in accuracy and completeness by employing a range of business process and technology techniques. Alliance will discuss this project in detail and share the unique approach with the Dama members to stimulate discussion and provoke new ideas in this area.
