FREE BETA CDMP EXAM

The Data Operations (DBA) exam is still available in beta format. It will be available to take at the September 22, 2010 meeting, after the second speaker. You must bring your Windows compatible laptop as an exam runs off a USB drive.

This new exam is aligned with the DAMA-DMBOK. It is suggested to read the appropriate chapter of the DAMA-DMBOK, available at www.amazon.com, before taking this exam.

Information regarding the new beta exam:

1. This exam contains 100 multiple choice questions plus 10 extra beta questions to be completed in 90 minutes.
2. If you pass the exam and want to apply it towards the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation or towards recertification / professional development, there is a conversion charge of $195 (the regular exam price is $285) payable to the ICCP.
3. The beta test is FREE. You will have to fill out an application, but no payment is expected unless you are taking other exams, applying this exam towards the CDMP, or applying this exam towards recertification credit.
4. You should RSVP to Pat Cupoli (pcupoli@attglobal.net) by September 15 that you are taking an exam so that they can be ordered.

Keep in mind that this exam is a beta exam. The scores have to be reviewed and adjusted by the DAMA / ICCP team after all the results have been received. Scores may be adjusted upwards, but will NOT be adjusted downwards on review of the performance of questions.

Unadjusted scores are immediately available after the exam has been completed. Official scores will be available sometime in the October – November 2010 timeframe after the DAMA / ICCP team meets again.

If you are starting your CDMP in 2010, there are new exam requirements: IS Core (mandatory), Data Management Core (mandatory) and one data exam of your choice, e.g. Data Development, Data Operations and Security, Data and Information Quality, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Integrated IT Project Management or Zachman Enterprise Architecture Framework².

If you want to take other CDMP exams, they will be available at the September 2010 meeting. Each exam is $285.
